FUN -TASTIC FAIR AT D.A.V. PUBLIC SCHOOL, PUNE
The ‘FUN-TASTIC FAIR’ at DAV Public School, Pune for students and parents of Std. I to V, on 29 October 2023, Sunday,was a unique event that brought together, students, parents, teachers, and guests for a day of excitement and amusement. The presence of distinguished guests, made this event a star-studded affair. The Principal of DAV Public School Pune, Mrs. Jayashree Khandekar, welcomed Mrs. Simi Juneja, Asst. Regional Officer, Maharashtra Zone C, who cut the ribbon to officially inaugurate the Fun Fair. They were joined by the Principals of DAV Schools, Navi Mumbai. The distinguished guests also felicitated the proud winners of the Swar Shankar - Inter School Music Competition, held in Pune. The Music Teacher, Mr. Rahul Srivastava who was the proud recipient of ‘The Best Mentor Award’, was also felicitated.
The Felicitation Ceremony was followed by a Cultural Programme by the students of Std. IV and V, called ‘Namaste India’. Students performed a multitude of folk dances from different states across the country to showcase their talent in dance. Musical presentations by the choir, and mime participants were met with enthusiastic applause and cheers, adding to the lively atmosphere of the event. The Flash Mob and Street Play were pleasant surprises and enhanced the festive mood of the guests. The Game Zone was a big draw with popular carnival games which were organized for both children and adults. These included classics like Hopscotch, Balloon Race, Snakes and Ladders and Tail the Donkey. Prizes were awarded to participants who displayed their skills and luck. These activities and games, made the Fun Fair an enjoyable occasion.
Students of Std. I performed dance and drama on the theme, ‘Disney World’. The students of Std. II, presented the cultural heritage and traditions of India and students of Std. III displayed their talent based on ‘Khelega India, Tabhi To Badhega India’.
The Fun Fair featured a wide array of booths and stalls, each offering a unique experience. As part of its social responsibility and civic duty, the school had provided space for three stalls which were put up by Bal Kalyan Sanstha, the Poona School and Home for Blind Girls and a third stall selling organic products under the ‘Save Cow, Save Nation’ programme. The Food Court with its numerous food stalls, serving delicious snacks and beverages, were all put by the DAV Pune teachers, who had catered to a wide range of tastes. Attendees could savour mouthwatering treats such as pani-puri, dahi-vada, pav- bhaji, doughnuts, and ice-cream, to name a few. The availability of these snacks ensured that everyone had the opportunity to indulge in their favorite treats.
This event was a day of fun, frolic and limitless entertainment for both children and adults. With its kaleidoscope of activities, delicious food, popular games, and engaging entertainment, the event was a resounding success.
